Chapter 27
16 Over the tribes of Israel: for Reuben, the leader Eliezer son of Zichri; for Simeon, Shaphatiah son of Maacah. 17 For Levi, Hashabiah son of Kemuel; for Aaron, Zadok. 18 For Judah, Elihu among the brothers of David; for Issachar, Omri son of Michael. 19 For Zebulun, Ishmaiah son of Obadiah; for Naphtali, Jerimoth son of Azriel. 20 For the sons of Ephraim, Hoshea son of Azaziah; for half the tribe of Manasseh, Joel son of Pedaiah. 21 For half of Manasseh in Gilead, Jediael son of Abner; for Benjamin, Jaasiel son of Abner. 22 For Dan, Izreya son of Jeroham. These were the chiefs of the tribes of Israel. 23 David did not count them from twenty years old and downward, for the LORD had said he would multiply Israel like the stars of the heavens. 24 Joab son of Zeruiah began the numbering but did not finish. There was divine anger against Israel, and the number did not ascend into the number of the divine word of King David.
